No 4472, The Flying Scotsman, just north of Finchdean on the Hampshire border, en route from London Victoria to Southampton. April 2002.
This locomotive, probably the most famous in the world, was built in 1923. It was restored to current main-line standards largely due to the vision of Dr Tony Marchington. The restoration started in May 1996 and on the 4 July 1999 the train made its inaugural run from London, Kings Cross to York.
